southern
coast of the Baltic Sea and in the lower running of the Visla,
where they came from Scandinavia. Beginning with the II-nd
century moved to the south and occupied the territory from
the Don to the Danube . In the III-d century goths divided into
western goths and eastern goths.
The gunnic invasion partly moved, partly exterminated the
gothic tribes.
Small groups of goths were still met in the 12-th century on
the Black Sea coast, in Taman, in the Crimea. They are also
mentioned in “The Song of Igor’s Campaign”. Some people
suppose that inside one of the Slavonic tribes – Drevliane –
there was a family nest of the gothic princes, the Amals.
