Слайд 2The Mikhailovsky Palace was built after the design of the architect Carlo Rossi
between 1819 and 1825. The palace was erected for the youngest son of Paul the first, Grand Duke Mikhail. In 1895 the emperor Alexandr the third order that a Russian Museum be inaugurated here. The palace was turned into a museum of Russian Art. At the present time, the collection of State Russian Museum amount to about 400,000 exihibits. The museum is widely visited by tourists.
