Geographic location of the country:

Germany is a country located in Central Europe. Germany

is bordered to the north by Denmark, to the east by Poland and the Czech Republic, to the south and southeast by Austria, to the south by Switzerland, to the southwest by France, to the west by Luxembourg and Belgium, to the northwest by the Netherlands. In the north, Germany has access to the Baltic and North Seas. In the south it is bounded by the Alps. The highest point in Germany - Mount Zugspitze with a height of 2962 m - is located in Bavaria. Germany has a temperate climate. The average temperature in July was 18.3 degrees Celsius, and in January - 0.6 degrees. In recent years, winters in Germany have been very mild and summers especially hot. Germany is the fourth largest European Union (EU) country after France, Spain and Sweden. Almost a third of its area is covered with forests. Lakes, rivers and other bodies of water make up more than two percent of its area. The longest river is the Rhine.

Brandenburg Gate:
If you are wondering which landmark of Germany is the true symbol

of the country, and what should be seen in Germany first of all, then you should definitely see the Brandenburg Gate. This is a truly legendary building, impressive in its size, architecture and symbolizing the most important milestones in the history of the country. The gates represent an almost complete copy of the Propylaea arch on the Parthenon.

Cologne Cathedral:
At the highest point of the Cathedral Hill in Cologne is a

true masterpiece of Gothic architecture - Cologne Cathedral. It is officially referred to as the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Mary. The mere appearance of this cathedral causes genuine admiration. The architecture of the majestic building seems to be woven from a lace of stone towers, columns and pilasters, united in a single architectural composition. And the general shape of the building, when viewed from above, is made in the form of a Latin cross.

Interesting Facts:

Jailbreak is not a crime:
Back in the 19th century. The German government

ruled that the desire for freedom is the "basic instinct" of man, which means that escape is understandable and justified and, therefore, cannot be considered a crime in itself. That is, if the criminal escaped from a German prison, after being caught, he will have to sit out the previously issued term: nothing will be thrown over this. Unless, of course, during the escape there were no new crimes.
Live very long:
Germany has one of the highest life expectancies in the world. Men live on average 78 years, women - 83 years.
Drink anywhere:
The country officially bans smoking in public places. But there are no problems with alcohol: drink wherever you like. But perhaps enough about the booze.
