It’s a clock.
It has face and 2 hands: the little hand and the big hand.

The little hand points to the hours – it is an hour hand.
The big hand points to the minutes – it is a minute hand.

The face of the clock has twelve numbers:
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve

The clock tells us the time.
The hour hand is on number three. The minute hand is on number 3. The minute hand is on number 12. So clock says: “It’s three o‘clock.”
That’s how the clock tells us the time.
