Since ancient times Nature has served man, being the source of his life. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment and it seemed to them that natural riches were unlimited. But with the development of civilization man’s interference in nature began to increase.

The UK is known for its beautiful lakes. Most of them are in Scotland and north-west of England. Scottish valleys are filled with lakes. These lakes are called "lochs".

There are more than 10800 lakes in Belarus. Most of them are situated in the northern part of the republic. The largest lake is the Naroch(80 sq km) and the deepest one is the Dolgoye(54 metres).

Objective:
To explore the natural features of two countries.
Tasks:
1. Compare lakes of two countries.
2. To know better the national folklore.

The object of research – Belarusian and Scottish lakes.
The subject of research is comparing of Scottish and Belarusian landscape.
There we have following methods of the research:
-descriptive;
-analysis of lakes;
-comparing.
