In a 2002 scientists found that it’s more important to eat

whole-wheat bread, with or without the crust, because it’s all around higher in nutrients, such as fiber, says New York City food specialist Keri Glassman, author of The O2 Diet ($25, amazon.com). Make sure the ingredients include 100 % whole-wheat flour. Bread with a simple labele “wheat” is usually made with a mixture of white flour and whole-wheat flour and have less fiber.
You will feel cold but you will still be healthy, says Jim Sears, a famous pediatrician in California. He told us about the experiment carried out in Salisbury, England, in which a group of volunteers got a cold virus. Half the group stayed in a warm room while the rest took a bath and stood wet in a chilly room for half an hour, then got dressed but wore wet socks for a few more hours. The wet group didn’t catch any more colds than the dry. Sears’s conclusion: “Feeling cold doesn’t affect your immune system.”
If you caught a cold, or you have a high temperature, you need to eat and drink, and then drink some more. “Getting enough water is the most important thing to do, because you lose a lot of liquid when you’re ill,” says Sears, who adds that there’s no need for special drinks unless you lost too much liquid.
Some blueberries a day will keep the doctor away more effectively. Blueberries are extremely healthy, rich in antioxidants. They’re easy to add to cereal and yogurt. The truth is that eating a variety of fruits and vegetables is important to prevent many serious illnesses, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
This idea was probably based on a baby’s head size, which is much bigger compared to the total body than an adult head. That’s why it’s important to make sure a baby should wear a hat in cold weather. (This also explains those typical newborn caps at the hospital.) But for an adult, it’s not as important as for a little child.
For kids up to age three or four, this is really important. Fish, such as salmon, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are especially beneficial in the first two years of life for brain development,” says Beverly Hills pediatrician Scott W. Cohen. And a 2008 study in Clinical Pediatrics showed an increase in vocabulary and general understanding of things for four-year-olds who regularly ate fish. You don’t like fish? Try avocados and walnuts.
Children who are fed by their mum’s milk during the first year should be given a vitamin D. After that, a multivitamin will be good for anyone, but many experts say that even if a child is a fussy eater, there’s no need to add multivitamins into his applesauce. “Even extremely fussy eaters grow normally,” Cohen says. “Your kids will finally get what they need, even if it seems as if they’re living only on air and sunlight.”

The Flu
The flu is the common name for influenza. The flu

is a respiratory disease. The flu can be mild. The flu can be bad. Sometimes the flu can even cause death. Each year millions of people all around the world get the flu.
The flu is caused by a virus, which is called a germ. People can spread the virus. The virus can live in tiny drops of liquid. If you have the virus, you can spread it by coughing. You can get the virus by touching a something that has the virus on it and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
If you get the flu, you might get a headache and a fever. You might have a cough and a runny nose. You might have a sore throat and feel very tired. Your body might hurt all over.
You can help stop the spread of the flu virus. The Centers for Disease Control remind you to cover your cough. You should cough into a tissue and throw the tissue away. The Centers for Disease Control also remind you to wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds. Studies show that washing your hands for 2 minutes with hot, soapy water is the best way to get the most germs off your hands. Be sure to wash under your fingernails and between your fingers.
Wearing a mask is also useful. Yearly vaccination against flu is recommended by the World Health Organization for those at high risk. The vaccine is usually effective against three or four types of flu. A vaccine made for one year may not be useful in the following year, since the virus changes very fast. Antiviral medicines have been used to treat flu.
