Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone презентация

The book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” is a bright illustration of

friendship in all its forms. This presentation touches upon the most significant examples of friendship portrayed by
J.K. Rowling, their main features and peculiarities.

Слайд 3

The friendship of the so-called “Golden Trio”, being Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione

Granger, starts in the very first book of the series and lasts for many years. The three friends display unswerving loyalty whatever happens, even though their personalities don’t have much in common.

Слайд 4

Hermione Granger, staying Harry’s and Ron’s wit, still demonstrates unparalleled audacity that contrasts

strikingly with her image of the know-it-all. She overwhelmingly supports him, being able, at the same time, to make him come down to earth.

Слайд 5

Ron Weasley, Harry’s best friend with empty pockets and a big heart, always

stays in the background of the famous “boy who lived”. Nonetheless, he manages to overcome his envy and, against all odds, risking his own life, follows Harry’s every step wherever he goes.

Слайд 6

Ron Weasley comes from a big family where he has never been a

favourite child. Even his mother seems to prefer Harry Potter to Ron, which clearly affects Ron, not destroying the boys’ friendship though. He has much of a sense of humor that helps the Trio lighten the mood even when things look their darkest.

Слайд 7

Draco Malfoy, Harry’s arch enemy, actually makes a clumsy attempt to make friends

with Harry Potter (of course, in his own snobbish way), which obviously doesn’t work, as Harry is not impressed by Draco’s wealth. Having gravely offended Draco by the rejection, Harry prefers the sincere Ron instead.

Слайд 8

This all results in the durable hatred between the two boys, both gifted

enough but still too incompatible to be friends. Unlike Ron, Draco can’t manage his envy, in fact he only wants to be by Harry’s side to bask in his glory, while Ron deeply admires Harry as a person. Draco needs not friends but henchmen, retinue, that he finds later in his fellow students Crabbe and Goyle.

Слайд 9

Rubeus Hagrid becomes Harry’s first friend, mentor and conductor in the wizarding world.

He opens Harry the secret of his parent’s tragic death and his own exclusiveness. Besides, Hagrid sympathizes deeply with the poor orphan, which leads to their mutual warm affection and Hagrid’s tacit support for nearly whatever Harry does.

Слайд 10

Harry feels responsible for his friend; whenever Hagrid is insulted, Harry’s ready to

fight for him. Harry is not afraid of being an outsider having among his friends those people who “don’t belong”. His main criterion for friendship is sincerity, the thing he evaluates most is virtue.
