Differences, Strategies, Possibilities

Since some years three different systems are available:
UD-8000
UD-800 Bscan
UD-800

A/Bscan
We now take a closer look on:
Sales figures
Difference between both machines
Market difference
Sales strategies

Слайд 3

www.tomey.de

Throughout the past three years the sales figures are quite stable
2017-2019:
UD-8000 ≤ 50

pieces per year
UD-800 Bscan/ UD-800 A/Bscan ≤ 100 pieces per year
What is the reason for double as many UD-800‘s?
How do you present both machines?
Do you offer both or choose only one model?

probe (15 MHz, 20MHz and harmonic)
60MHz UBM probe (optional) ? not only angle analysis but also iris analysis
Video storage (video cutting possibility)
Quad windows ? recall data, compare, follow up
Storage to HDD or USB stick (echo format, jpg files)
Connectivity via Data Transfer or Tomey Link
AL-4000 use with same interface of UD-8000

UD-800
2 ring array 10 MHz B-probe (normal 10 MHz + harmonic)
40 MHz UBM probe (optional)
Optional: A-scan, Pachy, A-Diagnostic ? flexible, modular system
Internal database (via USB stick)
DICOM compatible
Small, handy, intuitative use
Low price range ? competitive
Connectivity via Data Transfer or Tomey Link

Special features of UD-8000

Five different focus planes with five integrated transducers
A perfect resolution

in all different areas, also for babies: ROI (Region of Interest) by selecting eye types:
Micro(20mm) Normal(23mm) Long(27mm)
Retro(30mm)
No interpolishing needed
Multi Frequency: 15MHz/20MHz/Harmonic:
- 15MHz: for entirety and vitreo-retinal area as well as retro-bulbar area
- 20 MHz: for better membranous tissue observation, enhanced resolution for axial direction *high frequency mode*
Harmonic: for optic disc and macular area disease *Harmonic imaging can be achieved using a wide bandwidth transducer, which can respond to both the fundamental frequency 15mhz and its second harmonic 15mhz x2*

Special features of UD-8000

Harmonic high frequency mode in detail ? the received frequency

is a multiple of the original transmitted frequency ( 15MHz : Harmonic 30 MHz)
Reduced noise, fewer artifacts
Improved axial resolution
Better lateral resolution
Improved image quality in a specific area
In UD-800 we also offer a harmonic mode, but not in high frequency mode, so very basic due to a 2-ring transducer

UD-8000 better specifications

If you compare UD-8000 to UD-800 there is a bigger price

difference
Why? ? the biggest reason is the special annular array multi frequency probe, they key of our success with UD-8000 for specialists, as explained in previous slides.
Not only this, but also more detailed specifications are the reasons:
Frame rate UD-8000: basic mode 22 frames/sec High sensitive mode: 11 frames/sec
Frame rate UD-800: basic mode 20 frames/sec NO sensitive mode available
Max pages in video UD-8000: 400 pages x 2 ? possibility to store video
Max pages in video UD-800: 200 pages x 2 ? NO possibility to store video
Axial/Lateral resolution UD-8000: 0.4mm/0.4mm
Axial/Lateral resolution UD-800: 0.6mm/0.5mm

UBM Probe 40/60 MHz

The special UBM probe from TOMEY is a big benefit

for your customers – no water bath needed, comfortable for the patient
Easy to prepare, use, clean

Both instruments offer a perfect solution for anterior segment imaging: Our UBM probe
UD-8000: 60 MHz
UD-800: 40 MHz
Special feature:
Silicone membrane cap for single use!
Advantages:
No complex cleaning needed
No risk for cross infection
Very comfortable for the patient
Very comfortable for the doctor ? easy handling of measurement
Easy preparation and cleaning afterwards
