This pets are popular because they are considered to make good pets and are still favorite they are rather easy to look after, quite cheap to keep, and they get attached to their masters indeed.

Some people to keep exotic animals as because It has become fashionable.
But in my opinion it is not reasonable at all : they make bad pets. First, it is very dangerous for the owners themselves. Second, other people (their neighbors for instance) are not safe either.
Third, you should think of animals too: I am not sure that they feel comfortable in our environment.

Volunteer is people who help homeless and ill animals in his free time. Volunteers don’t take money for it and can spend their money if it need to help for animals. Volunteers often spend their free time in shelter for animals. There they feed and care about animals.
