2017 – Our organization changed its name to Association of International students from CIS and The Baltic states;
2018 – AIS opened new departments;
2019 – AIS teamed up with African countries. New projects in English were created;
2020 – Because of COVID, AIS started working online and conducted all activities online as well.
2013 – Yulya from Transnistria started studying Sociology in HSE and came up with an idea to found an organization that would unite all foreigners in the university;
2014 – She founded Association of students and graduates HSE SPB from CIS and The Baltic states and thanks to that the first Culture Day was held;
2015 – the first tutors team appeared;
2016 – More and more foreign students started coming to study here. The first separated dormitory for foreigners appeared;

КРЕАТИВ И ТВОРЧЕСТВО/CREATIVITY AND ART
Команда ребят, занимающаяся работой с визуалом и оформлением постов для различных конкурсов и новостей, касающихся АИС и иностранцев. Почемучник был разработан благодаря ребятам с этого направления.
People who choose this department will deal with writing posts, creating pictures and presentations for different news and events concerned AIS and foreign students. If you think that you can help up with media and interesting texts in different languages, it is for you!

ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ РАЗВИТИЯ/ ORGANIZING EVENTS AND MEETINGS
Самое большое направление ассоциации иностранных студентов, которое занимается организацией разных мероприятий в университете и общежитиях
Давайте взглянем на мероприятия, которые были организованы в прошлом году, чтобы в следующем было больше – лучше!
It is the biggest department of AIS that deals with organizing events in campuses and dormitories. If you are interested in organizing big events, this department is definitely for you!

ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ РАЗВИТИЯ
День первокурсника/Freshmen day
Мероприятие в общежитии на улице Шевченко. Это квест для первокурсников и только поселившихся студентов, станциями квеста служат этажи, общие и личные комнаты студентов, территория возле общежития. Заканчивается всё общим поеданием приготовленного организаторами квеста в общей комнате.
It is an event which was held in the dormitory at Shevchenko street for now (but we plan to do that in the others dormitories too!). Different rooms and territory near the dormitory are used to provide competitions. The united students from different floors are supposed to do that as one team. At the end of the event food is provided for all participants.

ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ РАЗВИТИЯ
Хэллоуин/Halloween
31 октября учебная комната превращается в нечто подобное, а желающих в этот день там поучиться, а не веселиться, заматывают туалетной бумагой. Также проводятся конкурсы с призами, в том числе на лучшее фото возле тематической фотозоны.
On the 31st of Oct the study room turns into something scary. All people who want to study there instead of having fun are getting wrapped into a toilet paper :). At the event we have competitions with prizes, including a competition for the best picture in the photozone. Also we celebrated other holidays such as Valentine’s Day and Maslennitsa.

На Кантемировской проводится День Культур, на котором студенты из различных стран могут познакомиться и узнать друг друга ближе.
Здесь каждый может попробовать национальные блюда, станцевать народный танец, и даже спеть на своём родном языке. Также можно стать непосредственным участником, зарегистрировав стойку страны, которая ему нравится или представителем которой он является, представив также национальную кухню и костюмы жителей (и не только людей). Для них предусмотрены различные призы в рамках конкурсов на лучшую стойку, костюмы и другие.
ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ РАЗВИТИЯ
День культур/Culrures Day
At Kantemirovskaya street we have an event called Cultures Day, where ones who want to be the members have to decorate their table due to traditions of the country that they have chosen (whether if a student came from this country or they just like their culture). Also the national costumes of citizens of that country are welcomed (and not only humans costumes :). During the event we have competitions with prizes for the best decorated table, best costumes and so on. Along with that, participants can show something, whether it is a national dance, song, poem or any other form of performance. Teachers, administration and even consuls of different consulates are frequent visitors! Big offline events are forbidden for now, but we hope that this situation will change and we will be able to arrange at least 1 Culture day

ВСТРЕЧИ В АЭРОПОРТУ (И НА ВОКЗАЛАХ)/PICKING-UP IN THE AIRPORT AND RAILWAY STATIONS IN SPB
Некоторые студенты не уверены, что смогут справиться со всем по прибытию в одиночку, поэтому могут запросить помощь в сопровождении и встрече. Этим занимается данное направление - встречающий в аэропорту подскажет как добраться до общежития или до корпуса, а если собирается группа – сопровождает сам
Some foreign students are not sure that they will be able to deal with things on their own on arrival. If they feel it, members of AIS from this department can meet them in the airport and railway stations to guide them with the way to their dormitory or to the campus. If you want to help freshmen as they come over here not to get lost in such a big country, join us!

РАБОТА С КОНСУЛЬСТВАМИ/ DEALING WITH CONSULATES
Это направление занимается переговорами с консульствами разных стран. Мы хотим предоставить иностранным студентам возможность стажироваться в посольстве страны в Питере и Москве, ведь мы знаем насколько сложно найти иностранному студенту официальную работу в России
We are aware of problems that foreign students might face while trying to find a place for practice or job here. That is why this department deals with the foreign consulates to provide students with an opportunity to work or have a practice there. If you want to deal with conversations there, join our department

ЛЕТНИЕ ВСТРЕЧИ В СТРАНАХ СНГ И ПРИБАЛТИКИ/SUMMER MEETINGS WITH FRESHMEN IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY
Мы также организуем встречи в странах, откуда ребята поступают в НИУ ВШЭ ещё до начала учебного года в конце лета. Там можно найти ребят со своей образовательной программы, узнать людей со своей школы, познакомиться с тьюторами, получить от них ответы на кажущиеся на первый взгляд глупыми вопросы о жизни в России, договориться с кем-нибудь заселиться в одну комнату или даже пройти неожиданный team building, спасая человека (true story)
For now we only arrange meeting in CIS and Baltic countries, but it is possible to do the same in your country! At these meetings people from one country meet each other before they come to Russia and can ask the heads of the meeting about life in Russia or even make new friends there, with whom they will be able to live in one room in the dorm! If you want to tell your compatriots about your experience in Russia when you come home on the holidays, choose this one!

АМБАССАДОРСТВО/AMBASSADORS
Амбассадор – иностранный студент 3-4 курсов, выступающий как посол кампуса, который может поехать в свою родную страну за счёт ВШЭ во время учебного года, чтобы рассказать об университете в различных учебных заведениях.
Ambassador is a foreign student of the third or fourth year, which can come back home during the year to tell about HSE in schools and colleges. If you want to promote studying here and share your experience with pupils, you can try to collect all necessary documents to be chosen. But for now it is still vague if this department can work properly this year due to COVID so we will share any news regarding this in our social media.

КОМАНДА ТЬЮТОРОВ/TUTORS TEAM
Тьюторы – это активные ребята – второкурсники, которые помогают иностранным студентам адаптироваться в новом городе, новой стране, избежать культурного шока и других трудностей

Где (отдохнуть, поесть, получить новые навыки), чтобы моё высшее образование не только открыло мне все дороги, но и прошло с пользой для здоровья и души?

Tutors are the second year foreign and Russian students who help the freshmen along with curators. They are always ready to answer different questions regarding documents, visas, passports and rules of HSE for foreigners. You can register for becoming a tutor on your second year in HSE.
