Why study?

The Positive Degree - показывает признак предмета или лица, не сравнивая его с другими предметами:
beautiful, old, warm, nice, new

The Comparative Degree- употребляется при сравнении двух предметов или лиц, показывает большую или меньшую степень признака одного из сравниваемых предметов или лиц:
kind- kinder,
tall- taller,
long- longer

The Superlative Degree - показывает самую большую или самую меньшую степень признака предмета среди нескольких сравниваемых предметов или лиц:
Large- the largest,
famous- the most famous,
bright- the brightest

Add er and est to short adjectives of one or two syllable. E: short-shorter-the shortest
If a short adjective ends with consonant and y, change the y to i and add er and est. E: funny-funnier-the funniest

Pretty – prettier – the prettiest
Clever – cleverer – the cleverest

Early – earlier – the earliest

Safe – safer – the safest

Big – bigger – the biggest
