Our topic is “Schools around the world”
As for the class
We have some objectives for today:
to learn new words on the topic
to read and translate the text
to develop speaking abilities

THE TYPES OF THE SCHOOLS
A boarding school
A single-sex school
A co-educational school
A state school
A private school
A specialist school.
A school for boys and girls
A school students go for a practical reason ( ex. To become an actor)
A school for only boys or girls
A school owned by the government
A school which students live in during school term
A school you usually have to pay to go to

you prepare for adult life you take exams
and write tests
you learn useful School is a place
subjects where… you learn to help
each other
you get knowledge
it is fun
you make friends

a good teacher
should/shouldn’t

have a sense of
humour
understand
pupils
explain everything
clearly
look nice, neat
and tidy
give knowledge
be strict
respect
children

SCHOOL RULES
EVERY BRITISH SCHOOL HAS ITS RULES,
FOR EXAMPLE:
Be polite
Say hello when you see a teacher
Come to school on time
Stand up when a teacher comes into the class
Wear your school uniform
Don’t eat or drink in the classroom
Don’t run in the corridors
Don’t bring mobile phones to class
Don’t talk to people in lessons
Read and translate the text in SB p.46-47

What is true for your school?(устно)
There are lots of rules.(to wear a uniform, to be polite)
Facilities and equipment are good.
The teachers are strict.
Students are motivated.
There is a selection of unusual subjects to choose from.
Students sit a lot of exams.
Most students take part in extra-curricular activities.
Students get a lot of homework.
Most students live nearby.
