LOS ANGELES (Los Angeles), a city in the southwestern United States, in the state of California. It is located in the southern part of the Pacific coast of the country, on a narrow coastal lowland bordered by the mountains Santa Monica, San Gabriel, Santa Ana, etc.; in a seismically active zone.
