Situation of okapi

Okapis are not classified as endangered. But the biggest threats to the world’s Okapi population are deforestation and poaching.

The Okapi Wildlife Reserve was created in 1992. The Reserve is managed by the Congolese Institute for Nature Conservation (ICCN) and Gillman International Conservation (GIC).
