Артикли с географическими названиями.

Цель урока – научить употреблять артикль с географическими названиями.
Задачи:
познакомиться с особенностями употребление артикля с географическими названиями;
развить память, мышление, воображение, способность к распределению внимания и запоминанию;
повысить интерес к иностранному языку.

Артикль THE не используется с названиями континентов:
Europe
Asia
North America
South America
Africa
Australia

Артикль THE
не используется с названиями регионов:
Eastern Europe
Western Europe
Central America
Siberia

Исключения:
the Far East
the Middle East
the North Pole
the South Pole

Артикль the не используется с названиями стран. Но употребляется в названиях стран, в которых есть слова:
state
republic
kingdom
federation

Исключения:

the Netherlands – Нидерланды (Holland- неофициальное название этой страны)
