business. By 1981, A.S. Watson has 75 retail stores
and is acquired by Hutchison Whampoa, a company led by the legendary Mr. Li Ka Shing. Today, Hutchison Whampoa is renamed as CK Hutchison and is a Fortune Global 500 company. From 1987, we start our expansion journey overseas to Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and reopen in Mainland China. We’ve also recently opened in the Middle East, helping people Look Good, Feel Great.

Between 2000 and 2006, we make numerous other strategic acquisitions of strong brands across Europe, bringing Kruidvat, Superdrug, Trekpleister, Drogas, Rossmann, ICI PARIS XL, Marionnaud and The Perfume Shop into our family. Thereafter, we stay focused on organic growth and continue to expand our retail portfolio, and become the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer.
