St. Petersburg State University of Economics is a higher educational institution of St. Petersburg, one of the largest educational and scientific centers of Russia. He is one of the leaders of classical economic education in Russia.

It was created as a result of the merger of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (FINEC), St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics (INJECON) on August 1, 2012.
Later, St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics was attached to it on December 29, 2012.

Today, more than 12,500 Russian and foreign students study at the University of Economics at the bachelor's, specialty and master's programs, and more than 300 are postgraduate and doctoral student.

In cooperation with international partners, including leading universities in Europe and Asia, higher education, refresher and retraining programs are being implemented.
